Free Spanish Passport (Pasaporte) Photo Maker

A Spanish passport photo is 26×32 mm (2.6×3.2 cm) — significantly smaller than the EU standard 35×45 mm. Spain is one of the only EU countries with this unique smaller format. The face from chin to crown must be 22–26 mm (70–80% of photo height).

Spain retained its historical 26×32 mm passport photo size when most of the EU moved to 35×45 mm. The smaller format originates from older Spanish DNI conventions. The same 26×32 mm spec applies to both the Spanish passport and the Spanish DNI (national ID card).

Glasses are allowed only if medically required and only if there is no glare on the lenses. The Spanish Ministry of Interior is more permissive than France or Germany on glasses, but applicants must remove them when possible. Sunglasses or any tinted lenses are never accepted.

Plain white only. The Comisaría de Policía rejects light grey, off-white, or any color cast. The white must be uniform with no patterns or shadows.

Inside Spain: book an appointment online with the Comisaría de Policía via the citaprevia portal — passports are issued by the Policía Nacional, not the town hall. Outside Spain: Spanish consulates worldwide. The 26×32 mm photo spec is identical at both.

In Spain: photo studios (fotomatón or fotografía) near every Comisaría de Policía take Spanish-spec photos for €5–10. Many photo booths in metro stations and shopping centers offer the 26×32 mm DNI/Pasaporte preset. Outside Spain: format yourself with the unique 26×32 mm spec.
